About Me & The Blessed Dog

Hello, I'm Karen.  I am an ordained animal chaplain, but more than anything, I've always been an animal lover. Dogs have always been at the center of my heart. 

For over ten years, I built a business creating and selling dog poetry, connecting with people through the deep love they have for their animals. I also wrote a small coffee table book dedicated to the invaluable life lessons dogs teach us.

Becoming an animal chaplain felt like a natural next step.  It gave language and meaning to something I had always felt—that our relationships with animals are SACRED, EMOTIONAL, and DEEPLY HUMAN. 

My work is rooted in honoring the human-animal bond in all its forms—the joy, the companionship, the love and gratitude, and also the heartbreak that comes when they are no longer by our side. Everything I create is guided by that love and connection.

The Blessed Dog was created out of my desire to create something tangible that honors the bond we share with the animals we love so deeply and dearly.  I wanted it to be beautiful, symbolic, and meaningful. My vision for The Traveling Animal Chapel came to me shortly after I finished my schooling. A sacred traveling space to honor all the seasons of the human-animal bond.  It is a simple, heartfelt way to give something back to the ones who give us everything.
